Yael Haberman selected for Israel Academy of Sciences & Humanities Young Forum for Physician-Scientists
Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine
Prof. Yael Haberman, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and a physician-scientist at the Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit, Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center. She performed her BSc at the Technion, her MD and PhD at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and a Pediatric GI Fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Since she completed her GI fellowship, she has an affiliated faculty position at the Cincinnati Children’s (CCHMC). Dr. Haberman is an Israeli board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. She diagnoses and cares for children with complex and chronic intestinal and liver disease. Her research is part of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCF)-supported RISK Crohn’s Disease (CD), the NIH supported PROTECT ulcerative colitis (UC) cohort, and the Helmsley Charitable Trust IIRN and CURE cohorts. She has presented her work in numerous international meetings and received recognition for the scientific merit of those studies including the ESPGHAN young investigator award, and distinguished abstracts at the international Digestive Diseases Week and at the European Crohn´s and Colitis Organization annual meetings. At the Faculty of Medicine, she serves on the Physician-Scientist Committee.
