We are proud to congratulate Prof. Lihi Adler-Abramovich on receiving the 2026 Rappaport Prize for Excellence in Biomedical Research, in the category of Promising Researcher.
Prof. Adler-Abramovich is the Head of the Laboratory for Bioinspired Materials and Nanotechnology at the School of Dental Medicine, Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. She is a pioneering researcher whose work focuses on the development of nature-inspired materials for medical applications, including antibacterial materials, active biomaterials for tissue engineering, medical sensing technologies, and the encapsulation and stabilization of drugs and enzymes. Her research integrates advanced methodologies, including microfluidics, 3D printing, and state-of-the-art microscopy.
In recognition of her achievements, Prof. Adler-Abramovich was elected a Senior Member of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors. Her research has gained broad international recognition and has been supported by two prestigious ERC grants. She has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications in leading scientific journals, holds dozens of patents, and is a co-founder of Arrakis Bio, a company focused on collagen expression and production in human cells.
