Parkinson’s Research
Prof. Roy Alcalay awarded the prestigious ISF grant under the MAVRI Program for Parkinson’s disease research
Led by Prof. Roy Alcalay (Gray School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University & Tel Aviv Medical Center) and Prof. Hermona Soreq (The Hebrew University), this pioneering study explores the role of RNA fragments (tRFs) in Parkinson’s disease, and potentially can transform how we diagnose, predict, and ultimately treat this complex condition.
With 900 participants already recruited and advanced cellular models in action, the research is set to drive forward RNA-based innovation.
Prof. Alcalay, a Full Professor at the Gray School of Medicine and Physician-Scientist at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center, is an active member of the Aufzien Family Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease at Tel Aviv University.
