Medical student Omri Mor (middle in photo) initiated a new course designed to help fellow students learn spoken Arabic and improve communication with patients. In collaboration with Gilad Sevitt (left in photo), Founder and Professional Director of Madrasa, the course was organized for the spring semester also by Rinat Zaslavsky, Gray Donation Manager. Initially planned for a single class of 30 students, overwhelming demand led the Gray School of Medicine to open two fully enrolled classes.

Prof. Karen Avraham, Dean, opened the first session of the course and expressed her enthusiasm:
“I am inspired by our students’ recognition that learning Arabic is an integral part of participating in our healthcare system. Effective communication is essential to patient care, and the ability to connect with patients in their own language is incredibly important.”
