Prof. Goverover becomes Visiting Professor at the Department of Occupational Therapy of the School of Health Professions
Prof. Goverover, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, FACRM, is at the Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt and serves as Director of the Post-Professional Programs. Her work focuses on understanding and addressing cognitive and functional challenges experienced by individuals with traumatic brain injury and multiple sclerosis. She has contributed to the development of performance-based assessment approaches and interventions designed to support everyday functioning and quality of life. Prof. Goverover earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Tel Aviv University and completed her PhD at New York University, followed by postdoctoral training at the Kessler Foundation’s Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Laboratory. She has received more than $3 million in external research support, including funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2024, she was named a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and is also a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and she is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation’s Academy of Research.
