Prof. Howard Amital is new head of Clinical Promotions committee
at the Gray School of Medicine
Prof. Howard Amital is a Professor of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology at the Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Medicine B and Director of the Center for Autoimmune Diseases at the Sheba Medical Center.
He is also the current Chair of the Israeli Society of Internal Medicine and previously served as Chair of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Amital served in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps in a variety of roles and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed publications, with a primary focus on autoimmune diseases, including innovative approaches to diagnostics and therapeutics.
His research also encompasses pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia, as well as large-scale epidemiological studies based on Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) data.
